Quality certification of Andrésy Confitures’ artisan jam
The inimitable expertise of traditional French food
For over 60 years, Andrésy Confitures has been one of links in the chain of traditional French food, which is admired all over the world. This makes the company very proud to be a certified “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (EPV), or “living heritage” business.
This is a distinction created by the French government to showcase the “made in France” excellence and know-how of small and medium-sized businesses. It is awarded at the end of a very detailed selection process conducted by experts.
It has encouraged Andrésy Confitures to maintain the artisanal working methods that underpin the taste qualities of its artisan jam, namely careful handling of the fruit, and cooking in small batches and in copper pans. This mark of trust is also an incentive to keep innovating and adapting to consumer trends, while still upholding its traditional values.
Firmly rooted in the Ile-de-France region
Andrésy Confitures’ artisan jam has also been awarded “Talents Île-de-France” certification.
It recognises not only the taste quality of its artisan jams and its traditional French food, but also its environmental friendliness and its involvement in local development.
The company has always been based on the banks of the Seine and is now a member of “Mangeons local en Île-de-France”. This community, which encourages consumers to eat local, traditional French food, includes farmers, artisans, caterers and SMBs that share the same values.
Next September, Andrésy Confitures will take part in the fifth edition of Semaines Mangeons local Paris Île-de-France, organised by CERVIA, the regional centre for the promotion of innovation in agriculture and food. These day-long events are an opportunity to introduce the residents of Ile-de-France to the abundance and variety of products grown and produced locally. There are plans for numerous tastings of fruit, vegetables, pastries, groceries, meat and charcuterie, dairy products and, of course, Andrésy Confitures’ artisan jam!
Distinguished by the Collège Culinaire de France
Andrésy Confitures has something more to be proud of: in February 2017, it was certified as a quality Artisanal Producer by the Collège Culinaire de France. This prestigious association has no fewer than 17 starred chefs among its members, including Pierre Gagnaire, Thierry Marx, Alain Ducasse and other leading culinary figures. They carefully select and showcase producers in whom they have complete confidence. Andrésy Confitures enjoyed the honour of being accepted as a member for its know-how and talent in defending French gastronomy.
IFS certification: proof of trustworthiness, reliability and safety
It is only normal to be able to eat food without putting your health at risk. Andrésy Confitures guarantees that its artisan jams are safe to eat and meet the hygiene standards laid down by EU regulations.
The company applies the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) method, which is compulsory for stakeholders in the food processing chain. This set of requirements specifies the types of hazards involved and the means to prevent and eliminate them.
At Andrésy Confitures, everything is done to control the risks, whether they are external or internal. For example, the origin of each piece of fruit is identified, from the field to the table or the customer’s shop. The ingredients and packaging items are also tracked, and all of the suppliers are regularly audited.
Hazards can arise on our premises, too, such as intentional damage by a visitor or a broken jar. Stringent procedures make it possible to avoid hazards, detect them and, if necessary, respond as swiftly as possible.
Andrésy’s quality jams deserve their place on tables in France and the world over. They bring you the taste of traditional craftsmanship, fully-guaranteed food safety and a proud emblem of French gastronomy.
